Basketball and the soldier

Today (Saturday!) I came to school. The juniors need college assignments. But on the way, I heard noise in the APEX. Schulman’s team was playing, winning. So I went in to watch the 4th quarter. I saw Natasha working a camera on the sidelines. And I saw Schulman, of course, looking quite calm, even though the game was close.

Then I looked behind me and saw Mike, and Alexandra, and then more basketball players, girls and boys. There were more than a dozen. I sat with them for the last 10 minutes or so. I said hi to Hillary after the game, but I politely didn’t ask who she was rooting for (we graduated Hillary two years ago. She played for us, guard, but now attends today’s opponent.)

I finally got to school. Yesterday Melissa and Anthony found my 5th and last army man, hidden in plain sight, and returned him to me. So today I hid him again, in a common area, in plain sight. Good luck!

My little army men all said “take me home” on them. They are to remind us about the war, and that we should bring them all home now, safely. You can read more at http://mouthswideopen.org .
